Storrs, CT
Finn Kydland's Laboratory for Aggregate Economics and Finance (LAEF) at UCSB and the University of Connecticut are proud to announce the Growth, Inequality, and Macro Development conference to be held at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT, USA, on Friday, September 11, and Saturday, September 12, 2026. The conference will focus on the latest in cutting edge empirical and theoretical macroeconomic research as it pertains to understanding and elucidating the causes of aggregate economic growth. The conference will in particular examine how policies can either shape environments that lead to sustainable long-run development or hamper macroeconomic development. We will also consider papers that grapple with the distributional implications of economic growth (or lack thereof) and how macroeconomic policies may contribute to either reducing inequality along the development path or enhancing it.
The scientific committee for this conference consists of Nick Pretnar (Assistant Director, LAEF), Kanda Naknoi (UConn), Daniela Vidart (UConn), and Kai "Jackie" Zhao (UConn). Particular consideration will be given to papers that are structural and quantitatively theoretical. Pure empirical papers are generally discouraged unless grappling with topics of considerable novelty and with considerable aggregate implications. Papers may be submitted via Conference Maker at the following link until 11:59 p.m. US EDT on July 12, 2026: https://editorialexpress.com/conference/UnequalMacroGrow/
